Hello!

I figured it would be good to ask this in one clear place! When March pairings were posted and the wardens were sent limited inmate files, Viktor suggested the wardens share these files amongst themselves. Can everyone please comment on if they shared their inmates' limited files, in whole or in part, with the other wardens at large?

I'll update this top-level to reflect which files were shared and link back to them so we know whose CRIMES we can know about. I skimmed through the post to see who seemed to agree but if I misunderstood, let me know and I'll fix it. /thumbs

hey guys, unofficial warden meeting! by which i mean this is more ironing out some ideas ooc and not so much ic (unless you want it to be... don't let your dreams be dreams). there's a bit that inmate players might find interesting as well towards the end!

first off, some reminders:

• if your warden spends a lot of time in a particular area and has taken on responsibilities there, please post here / on activities / otherwise let a member of the mod team know so we can update that information on the peregrine page
• if you've posted a group activity on the sotg, remember to add it to the actual activities page (which now has SECURITY and a TICKET POOL)!

the mod team is formulating some mini-missions that wardens and paired inmates will be able to take up in the coming weeks, and has also decided to test limited files with the next group of pairings. these will include an inmate's basic info (think general stats like name and age, along with CRIMES). would any wardens like to formally put forward this idea to the navarch?

also, does anyone want to hit any plot beats that rely on inmates committing CRIMES? since we don't want to stymie actual inmate plots before they get off the ground, we should brainstorm ideas for preventable shady behavior and ask inmate players if they'd like to volunteer. this way, wardens can head off some bad behavior early and get development going between wardens and inmates, without interfering with an actual plot. or, you know, maybe someone would like their warden to get screwed over / in trouble / etc (inmates stealing commlinks when 👀). basically, how can we help each other make these things happen!

Player plot time!

Just when you'd all forgotten Travis' network post entirely (lol) he's going to come back with a vengeance. And with an apparently living foam wife. WEIRD.

In reality, Loki's impersonating her. Travis will get wise (eventually) to this and fully take advantage of Loki's love of fucking with people to team up for a Sick Epic Jackass Prank on the entire ship via a network post on Saturday the 12th.

This is an ooc warning in advance for two reasons:

1. I want to make it clear that Loki's going to fuck up enough in his portrayal that people should be able to deduce at least that something is up. Those who are more aware of his particular set of skills might be able to immediately piece it together, but I'm totally up for people calling bullshit fairly easily.

2. ...This is bound to have fallout. Loki's a warden now and this kind of makes him look untrustworthy as fuck, whoops. It might also mess with some folks' sense of reality, so opting out is totally understandable if this is Too Much for anyone right now! But if you're here for it, cool. Good. Come yell at him.

3. Actually three reasons because more foam wife weirdness is gonna happen no matter what here i am sorry you are going to have to think about more foam wife logistics i'm sorry

Hello lovelies. This is an OOC post regarding a player plot I'm trying to hatch here!

To summarize, Theo has been working in the greenhouse and has stumbled across a plant that has a contact poison that will knock a human(oid) out cold upon skin contact. Probably used in those delightful sleeping pills we're supplied with.

He'll be spending time saving up clippings to distribute to the other inmates to use against the wardens next time they land at port to make an escape attempt. Then they can all make a break for it!

The finer points:

• obviously all the inmates will have to be wrangled back in the end.

• wardens are free to choose how much or how little they are affected by the poison. Or if your inmate accidentally gets poisoned too and misses out, whoops .

• Theo is going to try and approach inmates individually or in small groups to discuss, wherever the wardens are not atm. Ie, the dorms, the mess hall, the hallways while he's cleaning (post coming soon).

• if someone doesn't want to participate at all, that's fine! totally optional!

• not sure what port is going to be like, probably something inconsequential considering, but I want to let the mods plan that part out or work with them to come up with something. I don't want folks missing out on Super Cool Port Stuff.

• I absolutely want Theo caught one way or the other, but he will be completely tight-lipped about the details. At least to start out, I imagine. But if anyone wants to blame him, please do.

• not all wardens can/will be effected, so they are free to chase right after and grab some inmates, or stay behind and help the unconscious wardens. They'll be unharmed other than being asleep for like 15-60 minutes, or however long you want. Shocking I know, but Theo isn't actually out to kill anyone here. Yet


It's been a very long time since I've done any DWRP gaming plotting like this, so I'm sure I'm forgetting important things. Please share your ideas, do some plotting, etc! I come from a tabletop background so I tend to get really into the details because. Well because tabletop. But it's fine to just take me by the shoulders and shake me to remind me that there are certain things okay with being handwaved.

My concern right now is how to IC hand this stuff out safely - any inmates with access to the infirmary that can steal a box of latex gloves?

And very importantly: if an inmate would rat Theo out, let me know ASAP. I'm totally down with this possibility! We can call this whole thing off and maybe proceed with port as normal, while Theo suffers the consequences alone.

HOWDY EVERYONE (wardens) (sorry inmates you can go back to trying to concoct poisonous toothpaste), I come bearing an update on everyone's favorite piece of longform nonfiction, VOLK'S LIST. William contacted the Navarch about it and received the following response.

He'll be calling (and sigh reluctantly attending) a warden meeting. THIS TIME WE WILL HAVE MORE THAN ONE PERSON WATCHING THE INMATES DURING IT!! As far as meeting content: William would make a point of mentioning: everything pertaining to points 1, 2, 5, 6, and 7, and would encourage wardens to talk to the Navarch themselves, as well as ask their inmates about their experiences/what could be improved.

William will openly discuss a lot of this, but he's paranoid about some things and I'm a slow tagger, so if your char would be stalking the Navarch's inbox feel free to run with whatever strikes your fancy! It's all visible to wardens and there are a ton of hooks here, if it's something your char would be interested in, LIVE YOUR DREAMS (though please add a note here so everyone knows what's up/can plot with each other!).

yooooooo so in the course of Lucifer's hazing introduction to our lovely prison ship, he had a conversation with Volk! He asked Volk for some feedback, and promised to bring said feedback to all the wardens for discussion!

here is what Volk gave him! I'm posting this in the ooc comm because I'm not sure how, or even if, we should thread out the discussion IC, but we should certainly discuss it here!

Lucifer will attempt to get all the wardens together to talk about this, FIRST ALL-WARDEN MANDATORY MEETING???? So I guess if your warden character would opt out lmk. He will gather them all, and show them Volk's list, and basically be like "okay let's discuss".

From Lucifer's perspective, what's most important to him is honesty and transparency between wardens and inmates - he believes they need to build some trust, and that wardens need to do some things to earn some trust, so if anything on this list is at all actionable, they should do it. He will be particularly keen on, for instance, allowing inmates to see what is actually in their files, and if at all possible to open up better lines of communication between inmates and Navarch.

Most of the other stuff Lucifer won't necessarily have an opinion about, seeing as he's both brand-new and also not human (which means he has very little knowledge of human physiological needs, especially since all his "inmates" back home are lol dead), so he'll leave discussion of that stuff to other wardens who presumably have more expertise.

ANYWAY THAT'S WHAT I GOT. PLZ DISCUSS. If you want to thread any of this out IC lmk, I am happy to thread out some discussions/chit chat around this! And obvs if anything needs to be run by the mods, let's do it.
