HOWDY EVERYONE (wardens) (sorry inmates you can go back to trying to concoct poisonous toothpaste), I come bearing an update on everyone's favorite piece of longform nonfiction, VOLK'S LIST. William contacted the Navarch about it and received the following response.

He'll be calling (and sigh reluctantly attending) a warden meeting. THIS TIME WE WILL HAVE MORE THAN ONE PERSON WATCHING THE INMATES DURING IT!! As far as meeting content: William would make a point of mentioning: everything pertaining to points 1, 2, 5, 6, and 7, and would encourage wardens to talk to the Navarch themselves, as well as ask their inmates about their experiences/what could be improved.

William will openly discuss a lot of this, but he's paranoid about some things and I'm a slow tagger, so if your char would be stalking the Navarch's inbox feel free to run with whatever strikes your fancy! It's all visible to wardens and there are a ton of hooks here, if it's something your char would be interested in, LIVE YOUR DREAMS (though please add a note here so everyone knows what's up/can plot with each other!).

- I think this faithful reproduction WILL actually convince Volk that William is genuinely trying, where other things havent. Delivering him things honestly that he won't like instead of things EQUALLY HONEST but designed to garner sympathy makes him go "yeah alright he's not being intentionally manipulative he's just trying and it comes off like an actor trying to play a really broad low-status"

- trusting them, no. trusting them *with* a file, he might actually ask william himself to take it, UNLESS. UNLESS YOU NEED TIME OOC, WHICH I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND, TODAY I WAS TOO TIRED FROM WORK AND SLEPT AND ENDED UP WORKING UNTIL 9PM, SOMETIMES LIFE COMES AT YOU FAST in which case he might ask to give the file to alice

- oh A B S O L U T E L Y he wants to read what the Navarch wrote, his goal is to become the world's most irritating person for her which, honestly, plays to his strengths

- volk is... going to ask william why he wants volk to like him. not like in a way that rejects the apology or implies volk HATES him or anything, just blunt, like. i can tell you care about this and im not sure why its a priority because it WAS happening before you got hit on the head by technically-not-me

- LMAO AS YOU CAN TELL FROM HOW LONG IT TOOK ME TO REPLY TO THIS I'm gonna say go with Alice...I mentally tried to twist my schedule to make it work but there's just no fucking way and this is obviously super important. Also William will be chill about it ic so there really aren't any drawbacks. SORRY THOUGH I WISH I HAD TIIIIIIME

(that said: I think they might have to be temped for her to ask for any kind of insight into his file??? but I'm only like 50% sure)

- is that volk's daemon...NO GOOD william's totally down for mini-book club to discuss, and would probs be more likely to get into arguments (rather than shut them down/cut through them) in that kind of setting. also the navarch wrote a book about banana stickers. just putting that out there.

- William will get defensive!!! again, and kind of need to push himself to get there, but assuming volk didn't lose patience he'd arrive at (part of) the truth, which is: he doesn't want volk to kill himself 🙃
