The Navarch will be safe on the ship itself, so long as passengers prevent anything or anyone with untoward intentions from getting inside! She'll be busy managing the maintenance crew and keeping a close eye on repairs, but may pop out to check on everyone.

As for wildlife, most of it isn't affected! But you can expect more overt aggression from mammalian creatures; just not on the same level as more intelligent lifeforms.
